Part 1

IELTS Speaking Part 1: Technology

A 5-minute interview on familiar subjects. The examiner works through short questions about your life, and answers of two or three sentences are usually the right length — long enough to show range, short enough to keep the exchange moving.

The questions

  1. How often do you use technology in your daily life?
  2. What is your favorite app or website?
  3. Do you think technology has improved communication?
  4. Are there any technologies you find difficult to use?

What is being marked

Every part of the test is scored on the same four criteria, each carrying equal weight in the final band.
